Walk In The Garden

'Begin your day in a quiet way,
Reflect on things divine.
Don't rush away to chores, or play,
Unless God's by your side.

Sometime today, toss cares away,
And humbly say a prayer.
A sincere heart prays not alone,
God will meet you there.'****

Prayer is the key to direct entrance into
the Heavenly domain, and an instant
communication with our Heavenly Father.
Seek Him with your whole heart and
He will answer.

"For the eyes of the Lord are over
the righteous, and his ears are open
unto their prayers...."

'Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus'

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There's a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion -
For more than conquerors we are!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

His Word shall not fail you - He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

~ Helen Howarth Lemmel
1864 - 1961

This song, with its inspired lyrics
and haunting melody, invites us to
'look full in that wonderful face.'
The face of Jesus...the one who can,
and will, transform our lives into
a heavenly peace.

And let me rush to state,
'after His touch, we're never the same again!'
Of all the faces we've looked upon on Earth,
there's none like unto the face of our Savior.
 Angels adore Him...
Shepherds rushed to find Him...
Wise men traveled a long distance
to bow before Him...
Yes, any person who seeks and finds,
can never forget the awesome experience.
'Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...
there's just something about that name.'**

'And she shall bring forth a son, and
thou shalt call his name Jesus:
for he shall save his people from
their sins.'
~ St. Matthew 1:21

God is proud of Him...
'Thou art my beloved Son; in thee
I am well pleased.'
~ St. Luke 3:22

One glorious day the redeemed
'Saints of Zion' will march into
His presence and behold that
wonderful face!

Let me tell you friend, on that day,
all the beauty you've ever glimpsed upon
this planet, will pale in the
light of His glory.

Every knee will bow and every
tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

'Wherefore God also hath highly
exalted him, and given him a name
which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the
earth;

And that every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.

~ Philippians 2:9-11

"Living for Jesus, till at last
Into His glory I have passed;
There to behold Him on His throne,
Hear from His lips, 'My child, well done!'"***

The story behind the song:
"Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"

Helen Lemmel was a noted Christian singer
and voice teacher on that day in 1918 when a
missionary friend of hers, Lillian Trotter,
handed her a tract titled, 'Focused.'
 It stated the following:

'So then, turn your eyes upon Him, look full into
His face and you will find that the things of
earth will acquire a strange new dimness.'

The tract struck a chord in Helen.
'Suddenly,' she said later, 'as if commanded to stop
and listen, I stood still, and singing in my soul
and spirit was the chorus, with not one conscious
moment of putting word to word to make rhyme,

or note to note to make melody.  The verses were
written the same week, after the usual manner of
composition, but none the less dictated by
the Holy Spirit.''
Later that same year, the song was published in
'Glad Songs' by the British National Sunday
School Union.  It quickly became a favorite
around the world.
