The Bible was rebound, probably around 1900, but I can't say with a
certainty.  The cover does show much wear but is in great condition.
 Evidentally, the Bible had sustained some damage through the years
but the bindery saved portions of the 30 or 40 pages.  The remainder
of the Bible is virtually intact except for the last three or four pages
which were damaged but preserved.  The bindery did a beautiful job

and his Eldest Daughter Elizabeth Longhead was born in the Year 1753
the 2nd of Sept. and baptiz'd on Philadelphia by the
Reverend Mr? Croos and Departed this life on Sea Mar 11th 1755 -

Shusanah Longhead was born on Sea April 23rd 1755
in Latitude 36 - 27 and Longitude Do being 27 hundred
miles West from the Meredian of London and bapt'zd
in Philad'a by the Rever'd Mr? Croos -

Ann Longhead was born in New york May 12th 1757
and Departed this life the 20th? Agt She was bap'd by the
Rev'd Mr? Kenedy of the Jerseye -

Elizabeth Longhead was born May 4. 1758 -
and Bap'd by the Revn'd Mr? Bostick in N. yorke
and Departed this life May 4 - 1759 -

My Wife Jean Deniston Daughter of the

Sarah M. Thompson daughter of Rev. Charles Thompson (the brother
of Susannah Thompson the 3rd wife of James Longhead) was
born in Swanry Mass.

Charles T. Longhead son of James Longhead and Susannah
Thompson was marreid to Sarah M. Thompson by Rev Mr.?
Watson of Barrington  April 1809.

Ophilia Caroline Longhead daughter of Charles T & Sarah M.
was born at Warren R. I. Thursday January 3rd 1811.

Susan Longhead daughter of Charles T & Sarah M. was born
at Warren R.I. Sunday between the hours of one & two P.M.
Nov 20th 1814.

Sarah M. Longhead wife of Charles T. Longhead died in
Warren R.I. December 4th 1814.

Charles T. Longhead Died of consumption in Dartmouth
England where he was driven by stress of weather while on
a Voyage from Antwerp to Providence R.I. March 25th 1818
his remains were there deposited in the burial ground of the
Parish at St. Petros

Willard Lovring son of William Lovring was born in
Holliston Massachusetts November 18th 1801.

Willard Lovering and Susan Longhead were married in
Providence R.I. by Rev R. E. Pattison Nov 13th 1831.

Charles Longhead Lovering Son of Willard & Susan
was born at Woonsocket R.I. August 31, 1833 Saturday 1/2 4 oclock

William Croade? Lovering was born at Woonsocket RI
Wednesday February 25 1835 at 1/2 past 4 oclock moring.
Son of Willard & Susan.

Susan Longhead Lovering Wife of Willard Lovering died in Taunton Mass.
November 14th 1837 - aged 23 (wanting 6 days) having been married just
6 years to a day - She Died with a calm confidence in her Saviour, her
body was removed from a Tomb in Taunton & buried in the grave yard,
Warren R.I. March 21. 1838 - (next west of her Sister Ophelia C. Chaffe)

James Warner Chaffee Son of William Chaffee was born at
Pawtucket Mass. Friday June 15th 3. o.clock P.M. 1798

James Warner Chaffee and Ophilia Caroline Longhead
were married in Providence R.I. by the Rev R. E.
Pattison Sept 2nd 1832.

Willard Lovering Chaffee Son of the above James & Ophelia was born
in Saugus Massachusetts June 17. 1833.

James Warner Chaffee Died June 26. 1834 at Woonsocket R. Island.

Ophelia C. Chaffee Daughter of C. T. Longhead died in Warren R. Island
Feby 26, 1838 - Aged 27.  her last words were "Lord Jesus receive my spirit"
She is buried next her Mother (Mrs. Longhead) and joins her grave on
the West in the grave yard. Warren R.I.

This Bible was owned by Charles T. Longhead, and after him, by his
two Daughters Ophelia & Susan.   it now belongs equally to the
children of both.   there is also an Ancient History of Josephus.
that accompanies this & is left alike to the Heirs of Ophelia & Susan.

There is a portrait of Charles T. Longhead, which
was equally owned by Ophelia & Susan, Susan
being the first House Keeper it was retained by
Her.  The Miniature likeness of Charles T. Longhead
was owned by Susan & Ophelia had the gold chain
belonging to it.  in lieu of it & as an offset (the chain is about 3 feet long.)

William Croade  Lovering and Mary Leniny? Swasey
were married June 9th 1863 at Taunten in St. Thomas Church

Children of Wm C & Mary L Lovering
Ruth Lovering was born in Taunten Aug 29th 1864
Alice Lovering was born in Taunten April 3'd 1867
Frances Lovering was born in Taunten January 16. 1869

Willard Lovering died in Taunten Dec 15. 1875 at 2.08 AM
and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Taunten.

Sarah C. Lovering died in Taunten Jan 18 1886.
Ruth Lovering was married to Henry Brinten? Coxe Jr of Phila.
at Trinity Church in Boston by the Rev's Phillip Brooks and
Charles H. Learoyd on Jan 5. 1888 at one o'clk

This ends the Family Registry.  
There are a couple of other notations:

1. William Longhead Bible adomini 17?? (looks like 1777)
is written on back of a picture page.
2.  Sally M. Thompson is written on a picture page.
3. Suchy or Lucky Longhead is written on a picture page.

The Bible is a family treasure.  I would rather have a Family Bible like
this than any book I can think of.  Even though none of my kin are listed,
I have enjoyed pondering those long ago ancestors who turned its
pages and lived by the gospel truths imparted.
What wonderous stories this marveous Bible could tell!
