This is the lineage of John Lee Marberry. His perspective:

"My earliest known ancestor is Francis Marberry who was born 7 May
1781 in North Carolina. I believe he is one of the six sons of Francis
and Tabitha Marbery who are listed in the 1790 Census of the Salisbury
District in Rowan Co. NC. Francis and Tabitha had three sons born
before 1774 and three who were born after 1774.
Francis and Tabitha sold their lands on Little Kiokee Creek, Richmond
Co. GA in 1786 and purchased lands in 1789 in Rowan Co. NC on the
Yadkin River at the Dutch Second Creek. They sold this land in 1795
and moved to Montgomery Co. NC. Tabitha is listed as the head of
household here in 1800, and I believe that Francis Marbery died in this
same year, 1800."

He first appears in Tennessee on the War of 1812 Muster Roll
of the East Tennessee Militia, Cocke Co. TN.
Militiamen on this list were in the service of
the United States from 13 Nov 1814 - 10 June 1815. Francis, Jr.'s
expiration of service was on 16 May 1815.

He's listed on the 1830 Warren Co. TN Census with 2 males and
2 females under 5 years, 2 males 5 - 10, 1 male and 1 female
10 - 15, 1 male 15 - 20, 1 female 20 -30, 1 male 50 - 60 (himself)
and 1 female 30 - 40 (Nancy).
