It's possible she died as the result of
childbirth with daughter Josephine.

John P. & Family Missing From 1870 Census

I haven't found John P. and family on the 1870 Census, but believe they were
in Hempstead Co. at that time.  Many men shunned the 1870 Census
because of the Civil War aftermath.

and Josephine Twenty Dollars each, said sum to be paid to their father
John Marbury for said children by my Executor herein after named,

Cemetery Icon  John P. Died

"1881 - September 7 - Old man John Marbery died diseas
consumption, Clark Co., Ark."

~From "Clark County, Arkansas - Arkadelphia & Environs -
A Journal by James A. Forston -  Recorded 1875-1897"
Transcribed and Edited by Linda Shaddock Rogers 1991

Ink and featherNote: Consumption is the same as
Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

Even though Mr. Forston referred to John P. in his diary as "old man,"
John P. was only 58 years old.  In those times, the aging process
arrived early, the result of hard labor.

John P. and Minerva's three sons and daughter Josephine, were all still living
at home when he died and they all four married later.

Clark County Arkansas Research

Clark Co. records need to be researched for John P.   I did inquire as to
old church records from Shiloh Baptist Church but none have survived.
John, along with daughter Martha Jane Summerhill, probably buried there.
