Very little information has surfaced in regard to this couple.

The 1800 Granville Co. Census lists John Williams with one male 16 - 26
and
one female 16 - 26. Did John and Mary migrate to White Co. TN by 1820?
He's
shown in household No. 361. Thomas Williams is household No. 362.
Other
Williams families also lived there. By 1850, John is in Roane Co. TN
where
he is listed as 76 years old (b abt 1774) and Mary (b abt 1779). Mary
is shown
on the 1860 Roane Co. Census as living alone age 82 (p. 133).
This information is placed on this page for research purposes only. It
opens
doors to finding our connection to Mary & John Williams.
Note:George & Eliza Summerhill Welch (married 1808
in Rutherford Co. NC), also
migrated to White Co. TN. What is the family connection?

Further Study:
James Williams died 1802 in Mecklenburg Co. VA
(Mecklenburg is just across the Granville Co. NC line.)
John & Mary Williams purchased from the sale of the estate.
Was James the father of John? John is not mentioned in the will
but neither was James' son Nathaniel who purchased from
the estate.
We can only answer our questions as we continue to seek out anything
in regard to John and Mary.
