(African & Italian Campaigns.) Served in Korea.

Entered the U. S. Army 12 Feb 1943 - Served in Co. C,
312, Medical Bn. Participated in the following battles:
Ardennes, Rhineland and fought in Central Europe.
also served in Korea with Headquarters Co., Korea
Base Command.
Honorably Discharged 5 Oct 1947

Cpl. Donald Raymond "Jack" Summerhill
b 3 Dec 1924 Arkadelphia, Clark Co. AR
d 3 Dec 1947 Hot Springs, AR - bur Arkadelphia, AR

Entered the U. S. Army 8 Jul 1943 - Served in Co. H, 163rd
Infantry Regiment. Served in New Guinea and the Philippines.
Fired shells from 81 mm mortar to enemy positions. During
combat on Mindano, was wounded and received Purple Heart
Medal 12 Mar 1945.

Honorably Discharged 15 Jun 1946

Son of: Elbert Trigg Sr. & Lillian Brewer Summerhill
Marital Status: Never Married, died at 23 years from
Malaria contracted during World War II

Donald received this Badge for being under enemy fire.
I still have it today along with his Purple Heart Medal.

- Served on the USS Lowndes and USS ATR-13.
Combat duty included Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Honorably Discharged 8 Feb 1946 Naval Flag

Served in the U. S. Army - Enlisted in 1931. Captured in North Africa and
shipped to Germany in a rail car, imprisoned in Stalag 3-B. Prisoner for
21 months.

d 9 Jun 1995 West Helena, AR

Served in the Marines during World War II, left the service after the war,
then re-entered the Air Force and retired as Tech. Sergeant.
